The Prevent T2 Program

 

What is A Healthy Future Prevent T2 Program?

Prevent T2 is a Diabetes Prevention Program that focuses on 3 Components: Nutrition, Activity, and Behavior. Participants of this 12-month program will meet for a total of 22, hour-long sessions. The first 16 sessions will meet weekly, followed by 4 bi-weekly, then 6 monthly to the end of the program.

Participants will work toward reducing their body weight by 7%. This will be achieved by:

Developing new approaches to eating

Increasing physical activity to a minimum of 150 minutes a week.

Learning strategies for improving healthy habits

To reach these goals, participants will log meals, food, and activity. Program Lifestyle Coaches will guide participants to help achieve these goals. Success is determined by participation and attendance in the program. (Data has shown an increased success rate for those with full attendance).
